# Register WhatsApp Business API Number

### Before get started

To follow these steps, you must accept the WhatsApp Business API limited public preview or, have been signed up with one of our partnered Business Solution Providers for integration.

You need:

1. A Facebook Business Manager Account.
2. A verified business.
3. A WhatsApp Business Account.
4. A Line of Credit for your WhatsApp Business Account: you can read the Line of Credit [here](https://www.facebook.com/business/help/1684730811624773?id=2129163877102343) or refer to WhatsApp about Business API Billing to [get more information](https://www.facebook.com/business/help/2225184664363779?id=2129163877102343) about the billing process.

#### **Business Selection**

The new flow always displays the default legal name as the business. It also shows the business information, even if all of the required fields are filled out.

This new flow prevents businesses from making errors by disabling businesses where the user is not an admin, and by disabling the creation of a business if the user has already created the maximum number of businesses.

#### **WABA and Profile Selection**

The new flow is standardized, so whether the user is adding or selecting a new WABA/phone profile, the flow is the same. From this screen, the user can do one of the following:

1. Create both a new WABA and profile
2. Select an existing WABA and create a new profile
3. Select an existing WABA and profile

Regardless of which option the user selects, the flow will always start the same way.

#### **Creating a New WABA and Profile**

If the user chooses to create a new WABA and profile, they can fill out all their WABA and profile information on a single page.

The website field is now optional and defaults to the business’ website.

#### **Selecting an Existing WABA and Creating a New Profile**

If the user selects an existing WABA, they can only edit the phone profile field.

The user will then enter their phone number information as prompted.

#### **Selecting an Existing WABA and Profile**

If the user selects an existing WABA and existing profile, the profile is displayed but cannot be edited. To edit the profile, the user must do so in the WhatsApp Manager.

The user can then verify their number and select the verification method.

#### **Verified Phone Number**

If the user selects a verified phone number, they will be directed to the completion step.
